A Blast From the Past
Hi There!
Before I get into the nitty gritty, we’re open today from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Come join us! And don’t forget the Louisville Labor Day Parade is happening this year – only it will be going down Pine rather than Main.
Saturday we were very excited to have a visit from Joe Kummerer – the great, great grandson of Peter Moeller, the head brewer at Crystal Springs Brewing and Ice Company in the early part of the 20th century, and his girlfriend Mary. We had a great time showing them around the brewery and enjoying a few beers in the beer garden – and, of course, swapping some stories. Joe and Mary hail from Chicago. Joe and his brother had planned a trip to Colorado a few years ago, but that ended up not happening because of a wrong turn. Joe is also sending us some family pictures of the original Crystal Springs Brewing and we’ll share those with you when we get them. It was great meeting them and we hope they visit again soon.
We’re getting very close to having a full line-up of beers. Last week we added 13 IPA, South Ridge Amber and American Stout. AND, we’ll soon have our rendition of a beer Crystal Springs Brewing and Ice Company brewed in 1905!
That’s about it for now. I’m planning to add another newsletter in a few days to talk about upcoming beers, brewery news and other fun things coming up. Right now, I’ve got to get ready as Kristy and I will be helping with the taproom for a few hours – I just wanted to share the news of our visitors and let you know we’re open today.
Hope you can stop by and that your weekend has been and is wonderful.
Cheers, Tom
